1. Who we are

SearchMobileNumber.com ("we", "us", "our") is a community-powered phone number lookup service. We help people check whether a phone number has been reported as a scam, spam, or fraud by other users.

2. What we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Phone number searches — When you search a number, we log the number searched along with a hashed (anonymised) version of your IP address and a timestamp. We do not store your full IP address.
• Reports you submit — The phone number, category, and description you provide. These are stored and, after moderation, made publicly visible on the site.
• Helpful votes — When you mark a report as helpful, we record a hashed IP to prevent duplicate votes. No personal information is stored.
• Automatically collected data — Standard web server logs including hashed IP addresses, browser type, and referring page. These are used for security and abuse prevention only.

3. How we use your information

• To display search results and risk scores for phone numbers
• To publish community reports after moderation
• To detect and prevent spam, abuse, and fake reports
• To improve the accuracy and coverage of our database
• To generate anonymised statistics about scam trends

We do not use your data for advertising profiling, and we do not sell or rent your data to any third party.

4. Public nature of reports

Reports you submit are intended to be public. Once approved by our moderation team, your report text and the phone number will be visible to anyone who visits that number's page. Do not include your own personal information (your name, address, financial details, etc.) in a report description.

We may reject or remove reports that contain personal information about third parties unrelated to the reported number.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use minimal browser storage:

• Session storage — to remember your country/dial code preference within a single browsing session.
• No tracking cookies — we do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

If we display third-party advertisements (via Google AdSense), those providers may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Third-party services

• Google AdSense — may serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out via Google Ad Settings.
• Fonts (Bunny Fonts) — we use Bunny Fonts, a privacy-friendly font service that does not log IP addresses.

7. Data retention

Search logs are retained for up to 90 days for abuse prevention, then deleted. Approved community reports are retained indefinitely as they form the core of our public database. You may request removal of a report you submitted by contacting us (see Section 9).

8. Children's privacy

This service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we will remove it promptly.

9. Your rights and contact

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because we store only hashed IP addresses (not names or email addresses), we are unable to identify most users. If you submitted a report and wish to have it removed, contact us with the phone number and a description of the report and we will process your request.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
